Protect Sydney Koala Colony

The fate of the precious koala colony on the Cumberland Plain now rests with NSW Planning Minister Rob Stokes and Environment Minister Matt Kean.

The Ministers have made many promises over a long time, and Matt Kean has acknowledged that the government has not done enough

Protecting the koalas requires urgent government action including:

  • Enforcing corridors that are wide enough for the koalas, in line with the Chief Scientist’s advice
  • Ensuring the construction of an underpass on Appin Road to protect the koalas from traffic, as a priority.

Send messages to the Ministers today – it is a race now that the Lendlease residential development has overcome a court challenge and has gained Council approval.
