Voting is a way for us all to have a say in the future of our local area, state and country. How we vote affects our relationship with the world.
Register to vote online at the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) website. Only one registration is needed to vote in federal, state and local government elections.
You will need one of the following:
- Australian driver’s licence number
- Australian passport number
- Medicare card details
- Australian citizenship number
- Someone who is already enrolled to confirm your identity.
If 16 and 17-year olds register now, they will automatically be eligible to vote when they turn 18.
Options are available for voters with no permanent address, or for those who need to keep their address silent.
You must be correctly enrolled by 8pm local time Monday 7 April 2025. So don’t miss out, enrol now.
