Plastic is made with gas and oil, and energy from waste incinerators operate on gas. Four NSW regional areas have been identified as places suitable for incinerators, but the townsfolk are fighting back.
Tarago campaigners are calling for support because they are a small community facing a big threat. The incinerator proposed near their town is already in the planning system.

- Zero waste legislation which requires industry to ’take back’ and pay for their waste
- Add a tracked and meaningful deposit/refund system for the products hardest to recycle.
- An increase in payments in the container deposit scheme from 10c to 20c
