Mining companies are attempting to plunder the sea floor for profit, impacting fish populations and threatening the livelihoods of Pacific People and their spiritual connection to the ocean.
After two weeks of talks by the International Seabed Authority (ISA), governments failed to reach an agreement to put a stop to deep sea mining. Unscrupulous companies are already prospecting with plans to begin mining operations as early as July.
