Bad news this week. The Albanese government has approved the Isaac River coal mine in Queensland, their first approval of a new coal mine.
Emissions from the mine will total 7 million tonnes over its lifetime. It will affect water quality due to the release of water from sediment dams into the Isaac River and it will destroy the habitat of the threatened ornamental snake.
Action: Call Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek.
