Have your say on environmental law

Submission for reform of federal environment laws

The reform of our federal environmental law is underway and we can all have our say.

Some of the changes proposed so far are positive, like national standards and a national protection agency. But there are some whopping absences – like no government protection of a liveable climate. And developers could be allowed to buy the right to destroy our natural assets.

Lock the Gate has a handy guide to where the reform process is up to.

There are some very big concerns, but at least it’s not over yet. Please make a submission. It doesn’t have to be big but write in your own words about what you know is needed to protect nature.

The closing date for submissions is 31 March, but the sooner the better.
