Politicians tell us to keep signing petitions, writing letters and submissions, organising and going to events. Change comes when a lot of people want it and they are vocal about it.
This week there are too many important petitions to just promote one Action of the Week. Please do at least one if not all of these worthwhile actions – it won’t take you long.
ePetition to Stop Waste to Energy Incinerators in NSW
Incineration of waste comes with significant impacts on human health, climate, environment and future generations. Incineration projects, called Waste to Energy, are planned for regional NSW areas following decisions by the previous NSW government. The state faces a waste crisis but allowing incineration would run counter to the development of a circular economy.
Ask the Legislative Assembly to call on the Government to implement an immediate moratorium on all proposed W2E incinerator projects and introducing legislation to prohibit W2E incineration anywhere in NSW. Please sign here and share.
ePetition for greater penalties for tree vandalism
This petition calls on the NSW State Government to legislate for much higher penalties for tree vandalism so that they adequately reflect the value of this critical natural asset, and urges them to recognize council trees on their asset register.

Petition NSW Coal Watch: Don’t pour fuel on the climate fire
Coal companies have plans for more than 19 new coal mine expansions in NSW that would produce lifecycle greenhouse gases 15 times as big as our state’s current emissions. Ask Chris Minns to put climate action first, scrap pro-coal policies that facilitate coal approvals and stop greenlighting coal expansions. Sign the petition
