Pet cats can be wonderful companions but they are also highly efficient predators, hard wired to hunt and kill birds, lizards and small mammals. They kill 66 million just in Sydney each year. They can’t help themselves, so we need regulations to keep them at home.
There is an opportunity right now to make a submission to the NSW government review of the Companion Animal Act.
By keeping pet cats at home and safe from vehicle strikes and attacks we can save the lives of thousands of native birds and animals. The Invasive Species Council has made it easy to make a submission – send a personal email using the draft.
