Action of the Week 18 May 2026

Glenbog State Forest is about to be logged. So far 1,012 wombat burrows are marked and GPS recorded in the upcoming logging zone. Sign the Wombat Protection Society of Australia’s petition calling on the Forestry Corporation of NSW to leave this forest alone.

We’re already being taken for a ride by the gas industry – we shouldn’t foot the bill for fracking in the NT.

Singleton Station has been granted the largest groundwater licence in the Northern Territory and proposes to  drill 144 bores to extract 40 billion litres of water a year. Sign this petition to Minister Watt asking for greater protection of our precious water. (There is a great video on this link too).

The Australian Press Council is meant to hold publishers to account. But it is funded by the same companies it regulates, its rulings are weak, and participation is voluntary. Ask the Prime Minister to fix it.

Bob Brown Foundation has been using citizen scientists to identify and record the presence of greater gliders in Glenbog Forest. Write to your local member and tell them it is time to stop logging this very important habitat.
