The Western Australian government has a draft plan to allow many billions of litres of ground and surface water to be taken by irrigators from the Martuwarra Fitzroy River at its catchment.
Please take a few minutes by Tuesday 31 August to stand with the Traditional Owners of the Kimberley region in opposing this move. Tragically we have Juukan Gorge and the Murray Darling Basin river system to remind us that we cannot trust our governments to protect our most precious resources and heritage.
The river is a national resource so we all need to speak up for its preservation from large scale irrigation. The future of the Traditional Owners and the broader community is on the line.
If you’ve been to the Kimberley you know it’s like nowhere else – let’s keep it that way!
Send a message to the WA government – it only takes a minute
