The Queensland government has given Origin Energy permission to drill for oil and gas across 250,000 hectares of the Channel Country.
They know the risks if Origin goes ahead: drawdown of Great Artesian Basin water, destruction of wetlands and damage to an inland river system that stretches across three states and the Northern Territory.
There’s a trail of broken promises to traditional owners, farmers and other industries.
