The Australia Institute’s Coal Mine Tracker details the coal mines and extensions in the planning system. The tracker has information on where the projects are in the planning process, their total and annual emissions as well as the endangered plant and animal species they threaten.
The projects have yet to be finally assessed in the NSW and Queensland state planning systems.
If the state governments approve them they will need approval by federal Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek.
We have an opportunity to let the Minister know that we want her to block the projects to protect our climate, water resources, nature and endangered species.
