Take Action Anywhere

Clickathon - 4 petitions to sign

This week Action of the Week is a ‘clickathon’ as there are four important petitions to sign, and you can have your say about them all in just a few minutes.

Stop investors suing over climate policies – Sign the Petition to stop investors like Clive Palmer from suing our government for billions over climate change policies. Under some trade agreements corporations can sue countries for changing their environmental laws if they go back on agreements.

Protect forests – Call on PM Anthony Albanese and his government to become a world leader in forest protection and act swiftly to protect our threatened native environment and to implement strong environmental protection laws to end agricultural deforestation in Australia by 2025.

Stop funds for fossil fuel companies – Sign the Market Forces petition for ANZ to rule out any direct finance for any fossil fuel expansion project (extraction and associated infrastructure), including new or expanded metallurgical coal mines, LNG import terminals, and pipelines.

Fix our dodgy lobbying laws – Lobbyists sway decision makers to serve their own interests, rather than what’s best for the broader community. We need stronger regulations on professional lobbying, with proper enforcement, to make our democracy more transparent and fair. Sing the #OurDemocracy petition to the Attorney General, Mark Dreyfus.
