Take Action! Three petitions to sign about waste, saving vulnerable species and establishing Southern Highlands Wollondilly National Park.
1. We need a national plan to reduce plastic and make big polluters pay.
This petition advocates for making waste producers responsible for their packaging from design to disposal. A compulsory system would create a financial incentive to reduce packaging, improve recyclability and improve reuse systems.
2. Give Australian wildlife a fighting chance against bird flu.
Bird flu can’t be stopped, but there’s still a lot we can do. Support the Invasive Species Council’s call for a Wildlife Resilience Fund to help species like Australian sea lions, orange-bellied parrots and fairy terns survive the devastating impact of future outbreaks. The best way to protect vulnerable species is to ensure they have strong, healthy populations — which means stepping up work to repair habitat and manage threats like weeds, feral cats, foxes and pigs.
3. Establish the Southern Highlands Wollondilly National Park.
The environmentally significant lands in Wollondilly and Southern Highlands need protection and connection to the surrounding National Parks. This petition to NSW parliament calls for the establishment of the Southern Highlands-Wollondilly National Park encompassing the existing National Park Lands and Crown lands around the Bargo River Gorge in the North, Mount Alexandra in the South of Wollondilly and further south towards Morton National Park.
