Team members become well informed on these issues by research, attending meetings with other groups, and travelling to see the problem. They use their knowledge to inform the rest of the group and to write the first drafts of letters and submissions.

Letter and submission writing
There are 12 members in our letter writing team. Drafts are sent by email to everyone and whoever wants to can suggest changes, but not everyone has the time to do it. Somehow this system works well. Whoever drafts the first letter is responsible for it being sent. Writing or editing documents is a good way to learn about a topic. Only letters that have come from this team are signed “on behalf of Sydney Knitting Nannas and Friends. Individuals are encouraged to write letters too.
Yarning Group – Craftivism
The Yarning Group meets every month or two in Glebe at Nanna Elizabeth’s house for a Crafternoon usually at 1.30pm on a Saturday. If you haven’t met us yet, this is a good introduction to our group. Notice is always sent out via email and mentioned at the meetings. You don’t need to knit or crochet to attend! Includes craft, sewing, knitting and crochet – signs, costumes and gifts. Elizabeth is happy to teach beginners how to knit and/or crochet and will help with projects underway.
Knit-ins are held outside MPs offices. At all our events a group of Nannas sit, knit, crochet and chat while others hand out information and talk to passers-by.
Art
Signs and banners are mostly done by individuals, but with our many new members, and our growing knowledge of messaging, we have started an Art Team to work together on messaging and designs.
