Sydney Knitting Nannas joined #Fridays4Forests and #SaveSydneyKoalas outside Parliament House on Friday for the first #Fridays4Forests gathering in Sydney.
The organiser of the event, Sean O’Shannessy, of the North East Forest Alliance told us about the work of activists to protect koala habitat from logging.
He encourages everyone to gather somewhere in a town, city or forest at 10am every Friday and take a photo and post it to the Fridays4Forests Facebook page with the tags #StandUp4Forests and @Fridays4Forests.
Sue Higginson, Greens MP in the NSW Upper House, spoke about how our native forests and endangered animals and plants are being logged to extinction. The NSW government has to be held accountable for this destruction.
