Sydney Knitting Nannas busy as usual

Sydney Knitting Nannas are searching through their signs and placards to find the right ones for the many upcoming events. New signs will be painted on scraps of cardboard or knitted and/or crocheted by crafty Nannas.

Craft Workshop Saturday 6 August

A craft workshop will be conducted at Nanna Elizabeth’s home in Glebe from 1.30pm. Elizabeth’s skills as a knitter and crocheter are awesome and she is willing to teach anyone who wants to learn or needs help with a project.

Climate Emergency Rally Sunday 7 August

Emergency Climate Action: No more coal and gas; 43% carbon emissions cut by 2030 is not enough. 1pm Sydney Town Hall. Sydney Knitting Nannas are co-hosts along with many other groups. Facebook event  

Council Climate Emergency Declaration Friday 19 August

Zoom at 2pm with Helen Healy from Mildura Council on how she persuaded an ultra conservative council to declare a climate emergency.

Move beyond Coal Launch Party Saturday 17 September

28 action teams have formed to adopt NAB branches across the country and demand NAB end their funding for coal! The groups will meet outside NAB branches around Sydney and engage with bank staff and passers-by about NAB funding Whitehaven coal. Options are: set up a group, join a group, attend the launch of Move Beyond Coal at Petersham Town Hall on 17 September 2-4pm. More information

Climate Rally Saturday 24 September.

A Climate Rally is planned for Saturday 24 September at 1pm at Sydney Town Hall. The convenors are Workers for Climate Action and USyd environ group. Facebook event 

Climate Picnic Sunday 16 October

Sydney Knitting Nannas will join Balmain Rozelle Climate Action at a picnic in Callan Park that’s part of the broad Nature Conservation Council Climate Picnic in many locations. Nannas from the Northern Beaches will join a local picnic too.
