Sydney Knitting Nannas were shocked to hear of the attack on the Federal Member for Indi Helen Haines. She is a role model not only for Community Independents but also for us Nannas — caring, yet strong on justice and integrity.
We send Nanna hugs to her and her family and hope she is back fighting for her community soon.
Her friend Zoe Daniel writes in The Guardian “I knew one of us could get hurt eventually. I never thought it would be my friend Helen.”
After reading Zoe’s article we all need to ask ourselves “What would Helen do?” more often.
