Nannas to support Gomeroi native title claim at events
Sydney Knitting Nannas will be attending events in Sydney and in Coonabarabran this week to support the Gomeroi people in their fight for native title over the Pilliga State Forest. The events will correspond with an appeal being heard in the Native Title Tribunal starting on Wednesday 9 August in Brisbane.
Petition against CSG in NSW
Please sign the petition by Lock the Gate calling on the state and federal governments to stop coal seam gas projects in north-west NSW.
Santos AGM and Salt Waste
Sydney Knitting Nannas and Friends rallied outside Santos’ Sydney office on Thursday as the company’s AGM was happening in Adelaide. We joined with Adelaide protesters in objecting to the Narrabri coal seam gas development in northwest NSW and the Barossa project in the Timor Sea.
Why is the Hunter Gas Pipeline a bad idea?
Farms along the proposed 413km route of the Hunter Gas Pipeline produce cattle, grains, vegetables and fruit (some organic). This major gas infrastructure threatens all agricultural enterprises along the route and yet they have no protection from this toxic industry.
The Piss-off Policy
David Chadwick, a businessman and farmer from Coonamble, advised Hunter landholders that they have no option but to develop a strong and simple ‘piss-off policy’ to stop a gas pipeline being buried on their land.

Narrabri Gas information & questions for NSW election candidates
Do we really need Narrabri Gas when it is going to increase emissions, risk our water, remove Traditional Owners rights, make farming land less productive, destroy habitat for native animals including koalas and effect the mental health of people impacted. NO!
Coonabarabran togetherness, respect and culture
The Coonabarabran Gathering on Saturday was an enchanting evening of togetherness, respect and culture. The event, organised by a local committee, was in response to the National Native Title Tribunal’s decision to extinguish Native Title over the part of the Pilliga Forest where Santos has approval to drill for coal seam gas.
Gomeroi Gathering & update on Narrabri Gas
