Nannas to support Gomeroi native title claim at events

Sydney Knitting Nannas will be attending events in Sydney and in Coonabarabran this week to support the Gomeroi people in their fight for native title over the Pilliga State Forest. The events will correspond with an appeal being heard in the Native Title Tribunal starting on Wednesday 9 August in Brisbane.

Coonabarabran togetherness, respect and culture

The Coonabarabran Gathering on Saturday was an enchanting evening of togetherness, respect and culture. The event, organised by a local committee, was in response to the National Native Title Tribunal’s decision to extinguish Native Title over the part of the Pilliga Forest where Santos has approval to drill for coal seam gas.
