Nannas activities this week

Adani Protest

Nannas have again been busy this week, attending court, meetings and a protest and there are lots of events coming up.

Adani protest
Nannas Louise, Keelah and Heather joined about 30 others at an 8am event in the city. Copies of the Hindenberg Report were delivered to Blackrock and HSBC with a noisy march between the two buildings. They attracted a lot of attention from people going to work. In the report, Hindenburg accused Adani Group of a “brazen stock manipulation and accounting fraud scheme.” It cited 2 years of research, including talks with former senior executives of the company and reviews of several documents.

EPA vs Whitehaven (Maules Creek Coal) in the Land & Environment Court
Nannas have been attending this court case as some were arrested in the initial fight to stop this mine.

Whitehaven lawyers are seeking a temporary or permanent stay of prosecution in this case over a blast incident at Maules Creek Mine in 2020. Whitehaven lawyer (Tom Howard) said that “there will be some contest of the facts and the legal consequences of the fact”. We await the judges decision. More court cases against Whitehaven are coming up, starting next week.
