Polly Hemming hung out with the Nannas for a couple of hours when we were on the lawn at Parliament House in Canberra recently. Polly is the Director of the Australia Institute’s Climate & Energy program.

Last week Sydney Knitting Nannas and Friends visited the NSW Shadow Environment Minister in Parliament house; wrote an update on coal mining in NSW; composed a tanka: attended a workshop on how to write to MPs; and learnt how the Australian Museum is tackling climate change.

Nanna Koala Walk and Crafternoon
Sydney Nannas and friends were thrilled to see two koalas on a walk along Smith’s Creek in Campbelltown last week. Other Nanna activities were a craft afternoon, meetings with two NSW MPs and attending a disinformation workshop.
Nanna Native Forest Listening Tour
Five Sydney Nannas – Marie, Bron, Cathy, Tracey and Anne, were hosted in Coffs Harbour by Nannas Chris and Susan. Nanna Chris prepared a full and interesting itinerary. Nannas welcomed the opportunity to meet local community members and experience these remarkable forests first hand.
