Knitting Nannas challenge protest laws
Today, two Knitting Nannas from the flood and fire-impacted NSW mid-north coast launched a Constitutional challenge to new anti-protest laws to preserve the democratic freedoms of speech and assembly in NSW. Sydney Nannas were there to support them.

National Koala Day Rally: Sydney Knitting Nannas met up with Manly Nannas and members of the Animal Justice Party, Bob Brown Foundation and other groups at Manly Beach on 30 September to protest about NSW’s endangered koala population.
Santos ramps up gas production in Pilliga
Santos has ramped up gas extraction in the Pilliga Forest under its exploration licence, deploying a type of drilling rig known as a flushby rig 40km south of Narrabri. They are conducting production enhancement and well suspensions, industry jargon for remedial works aimed at preparing gas wells for production.

NSW Government talking out of both sides of their mouth
The NSW Independent Planning Commission has just approved the Mt Pleasant Coal Optimisation Project near Muswellbrook. The Commission cited the Perrottet government’s policy on coal and gas development in justifying their decision.
What Nannas are talking about
During Covid lockdowns, Sydney Knitting Nannas and Friends had weekly Zoom meetings to generate ideas for campaigning from home and to check that everyone was OK.
