Stop the destruction of land, water, and culture by Adani
The Wangan & Jagalingou people (W&J) are the traditional owners of the land where Adani is building its Carmichael coal mine. They need our support now to stop the destruction of their land and the sacred Doongmabulla springs.
Plans to convert coal fired power plant to wood
Please have your say about Verdant Earth Technologies’ plan to convert Redbank coal fired power plant (which closed in 2014) to a wood fired power plant. If approved it will generate 2 million tonnes of C02 each year. It would also result in increased forest logging and destruction of the habitat of threatened species. The EIS consultation received 250 public submission and only two supported it.

The rivers, groundwater, Aboriginal heritage sites, farms, endangered species, agriculture and tourism would be damaged or destroyed if mining goes ahead.
Kosci needs us now!
The NSW government has a plan to privatize parts of the Kosciuszko National Park by allowing a massive expansion of commercial tourist developments. The plan would include a 40% increase in overnight accommodation, new carparks, and helicopter transport into resorts. Also included is a parody of a Japanese onsen – with bathing facilities heated byContinue reading “Kosci needs us now!”

Floodplain harvesting is the practice by rural landholders of setting up levees, walls and dams to capture water on their properties during rainfall ratherContinue reading “Action of the Week”
